Hi, I'm Daisy and I live in Leicestershire with my husband and two little boys.

I’ve loved photography since I was about 8 years old. I remember my dad coming home with a polaroid instant camera and I was absolutely fascinated by it.

It then became a hobby and I loved it! I was lucky to have three younger siblings born between 2004 - 2009 and so photographing them was one of my favourite things to do! I didn’t think at the time I would want to do this as a career though. I had always wanted to be an artist or an illustrator, and so this is what I mainly focused on. I studied Art and Graphics at GCSE and was adamant that that was what I wanted to do in life so also picked these subjects at A level. But I had to pick three subjects to study at A level and all I wanted to do was express my creativity so when I seen photography was an option, I chose that as my 3rd subject to study!

It was studying for these 2 years that my love grew even more for photography. This course was mostly based on film cameras and I just loved it!

I decided I wanted to further my education and study for a degree in Photography. Before I could do this, I had to complete a one year Art and Design foundation course at University. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy my time as it wasn’t until about 3 months before the end of the course that I actually was able to focus on the subject I wanted to do! By this point, I wasn’t looking forward to doing a degree. I applied for three universities anyway and went for interviews and I got offered a place on a Photography and Video course! But I turned this down as I felt the course wasn’t right for me and so I carried on with my part time job working in retail. 3 months later in 2011, I was promoted to Store Manager which of course I accepted.

Unfortunately, photography then took a back seat. In this time, I had to face challenges that I never thought I’d have to face and it was hard.

Fast forward to 2017, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy into the world. This is where my photography started to pick up again! I started an instagram page to record the life of ‘My Roo and Me’ and I started to really get into it! It wasn’t until towards the end of 2018 that I had gained my confidence back and I started thinking of taking photos professionally. Friends and family kept telling me to go for it and eventually I did! I started with Easter mini sessions and when I got my first paying customers, I was over the moon! This made me push even more and it was the first time I had considered that I could actually do this as a career alongside my part time job as a seamstress. In September 2019, I furthered my training by taking a two day newborn photography course which taught me how to handle and pose babies safely and I also completed a paediatric first aid course as well.

At the end of September I was made redundant from my part time job. This was probably the best thing that could have happened though as it gave me the big push I needed to do my photography full time. My talented husband then converted the garage for me to have my own little studio and it is perfect!

And so here I am today. My life has changed so much over the last 10 or so years but I never thought I’d say in a million years that I’m now doing what I actually love as a career as well as getting to spend time with my little boys.
